Bovine Lactoperoxidase Purified from Innovative Research has been prepared from bovine milk and chromatographically purified. This is a lyophilized powder.

Lactoperoxidase is an enzyme secreted from mucosal glands (including mammary, salivary, and others) that works as a natural antibacterial agent by killing bacteria in milk and mucosal secretions, but is not mutagenic and does not attack DNA. Lactoperoxidase catalyzes the oxidation of hydrogen peroxide and is an effective antimicrobial agent.
