Human Plasminogen Glu Purified from Innovative Research has been prepared from human plasma by gel filtration and affinity chromatography. This is a frozen liquid buffered in 50% glycerol/water (v/v), with a purity of greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.

Plasminogen is the zymogen (inactive precursor) of Plamsin. Once Plasminogen binds to a clot or cell surface, it becomes an open form (as opposed to the closed, activation-resistant form it maintains in circulation). This open form allows for conversion into active Plasmin by enzymes like tPA, uPA, Kallikrein, and Factor XII.
