Mouse Factor II (Prothrombin) Purified from Innovative Research has been purified from mouse plasma. This is a frozen liquid buffered in Hepes buffered saline, with a purity of greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Prothrombin (Coagulation Factor II) is converted to active Thrombin (FIIa) during the coagulation cascade. This happens when Factor Xa and its cofactor, Factor V, together cleave Prothrombin in two, creating a fragment (fragment 1.2, which is formed from the N-terminal Gla domain and two Kringle domains of Prothrombin) and thrombin (containing only the serine protease domain).
