Bovine Antithrombin Purified from Innovative Research has been purified from bovine plasma. This is a frozen liquid buffered in 20 mM Tris-HCl/0.1M Sodium Citrate/0.15 M NaCl/pH 8.3, with a concentration of 1.8mg/ml and a purity of greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis (showing no reduction when incubated with 2-mercaptoethanol).
Antithrombin is a physiological inhibitor of target enzymes Factor IIa/Thrombin, Factor Xa, and Factor IXa. Antithrombin activity is greatly increased in the presence of the anticoagulant heparin, enhancing the binding of antithrombin to Factor IIa/Thrombin and Factor Xa.
