Human Fibrinogen Plasminogen Depleted Purified from Innovative Research has been purified from human plasma and plasminogen depleted using affinity chromatography. This is a frozen liquid buffered in 20 mM sodium citrate-HCl/ pH 7.4, with a concentration of 44mg/ml. The Human Fibrinogen is homogeneous as observed on a 4-20% gradient gel, and is greater than 95% clottable.
Fibrinogen (Factor I) naturally circulates in the blood and is a key factor in clotting and coagulation. Fibrinogen is converted to Fibrin by Thrombin, which leads to the development of a fibrin-based clot. Fibrinogen also promotes clotting by bridging and activating platelets. As a positive acute-phase protein, Fibrinogen levels will rise in response to inflammation, injury, and other events, and can be elevated in the presence of some cancers.
