Human Beta-2 Microglobulin (B2M) Purified from Innovative Research has been purified from human urine. This is a liquid buffered in 40 mM sodium phosphate, 150 mM sodium chloride, 1 mM EDTA, and 0.05% sodium azide, pH 7.2, with a concentration of 1-3mg/ml and a purity of greater than 98% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
This product is useful for applications like Immunoassay and Immunology, Urinalysis, Tumor and Cancer research, and Renal and Kidney research. Beta-2 Microglobulin (B2M) is necessary for cell surface expression of MHC class I and the stability of the peptide-binding groove. In conjunction with HFE protein, B2M also assists in regulating hepcidin in the liver, impacting iron uptake (from food) and release (from RBCs). B2M concentration shows an increase in certain disease (renal, inflammatory/autoimmune, some tumors and cancers) and can be used to differentiate between glomerular/tubular kidney disorders.
