Animal Free Proteinase K Purified Lyophilized from Innovative Research has been purified from Engyodontium album (formerly Tritirachium album). This is a lyophilized powder that has been purified to remove DNase and RNase.

Proteinase K is a serine protease enzyme that is able to digest keratin and other proteins. Proteinase K is able to digest proteins from nucleic acid preparations, as the enzyme is active in the presence of chemicals that typically denature proteins. It is also useful for breaking down proteins in cell lysates since it inactivates Dnase and RNase.
