Human Factor Beta IXa Purified from Innovative Research has been activated from Human Factor IX using Human Factor XIa, then purified to remove the activator. This is a frozen liquid buffered in 50mM MES / 0.6M NaCl / pH 6.0 -NaOH, with a concentration of 1mg/ml. Complete activation was observed by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Factor XIa activates Factor X first by cleaving an internal Arg-Ala bond, then by cleaving an Arg-Val bond. This second cleavage releases an activation peptide from the NH2-terminal of the heavy chain, producing Factor IXa-beta.
