Human Kallikrein Purified from Innovative Research has been activated from Human Prekallikrein with Human Factor XIIa, which was then removed by affinity chromatography. This is a frozen liquid buffered in 4 mM Sodium Acetate-HCl/0.15 M NaCl/pH 5.3, with a concentration of 1mg/ml and a purity of greater than 94% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis (complete reduction when incubated with 2-mercaptoethanol).
Plasma Kallikrein is activated from Prekallikrein by Factor XIIa. Kallikrein converts Plasmin to Plasminogen, an important function in Fibrinolysis. It also turns loose kinins from kininogens, which plays a role in the regulation of blood pressure and the activation of inflammatory response.
